Sandpaper and duct tape

Hand-sanding a cylindrical, turned piece of wood doesn't have to be a chore. Cover the back of a sheet of sandpaper in duct tape and cut strips to the size you need. The duct tape adds flexibility and strength, and can be maneuvered into tight spaces.—Sandpaper Strip
